The Garfield Movie 2024 is Directed by Mark Dindal, the film stars Chris Pratt as the titular character’s voice, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Snoop Dogg. Release May 24, 2024.
The film begins with Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt) pining for pizza, which arrives by drone straight to his cozy house. He gets into the middle of the crowd, addressing them, and then nationally accepts to educate everyone on how he began to live with his human, Jon, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult.
One stormy night Garfield’s dad, Vic (voice by Samuel L. Jackson), left baby Garfield in a crate in an alley saying that he would be back soon. Garfield waited some more until he spied an Italian restaurant with a human- sitting by the window. Overpowering Garfield’s cute, sad facial expression Jon could not leave him outside the restaurant and brought him home. After that time, they became great friends, and Jon provided Garfield with a wonderful life with the addition of his dog, Odie ( voiced by Harvey Guillén). But Garfield still felt angry at Vic, his dad who never returned–the dad he only got to see on the television set.
The series revolves around the life of Garfield whose life takes a turn one day when he and his sidekick Odie are out for some midnight snack. Suddenly, two malicious dogs break into their kitchen: Roland, a giant shar-pei voiced by Brett Goldstein, and Nolan, a vicious whippet whose voice belongs to Bowen Yang. All of a sudden, Garfield and Odie meet some dogs and the villainous Jinx, voiced by Hannah Waddingham, who takes them to an old shopping mall. This spooky ride alters Garfield’s perception of his past and upcoming endeavors.
I went to see the Garfield Movie, I didn’t have great expectations. When I first watched the Garfield show, I was expecting to see only a lazy cat who hated Mondays, eating, and being humorous. But it is in the movie, and guess what else – there is much more action, kidnapping, bad guys, robbery, villain, fast train, lovesick bull, and a lot more.
It is evident that The Garfield Movie has some aspects of humor, cartoon-style violent movement, and unrealistic circumstances but all these are in a joking approach.
In conclusion, The Garfield Movie is entertaining and jovial thus making it ideal for any kid. It is a mixture of Garfield’s traditional personality with an added bit of action and thrill to maintain the interest of the viewers. It is colorful and full of energy and the voices given to the characters are also very good and provide quite a bit of fun and cuteness to the movie.
Chris Pratt is perfect for voicing Garfield; he captures the character’s laid-back demeanor and sarcasm perfectly. Nicholas Hoult does a wonderful job portraying Jon, the kind and rather clueless owner of Garfield. In the movie, Vic, Garfield’s long-lost dad, becomes a much more menacing, yet somehow caring, character with the help of Samuel L. Jackson. The remaining voiceover artists include Harvey Guillén as Odie, Brett Goldstein as Roland, Bowen Yang as Nolan, and Hannah Waddingham as the main antagonist, Jinx, who are all entertaining as well.
Indeed, the plot might seem a little unrealistic at times, but it takes many interesting turns and one certainly will not get bored. The extent of humor though is well captured particularly the Garfield character and how he relates with other characters. It also has sentimental aspects throughout the movie which focus on the aspect of family, friends, and forgiveness.
The movie’s good aspect in terms of entertainment is the use of both comedy and fight scenes in The Garfield Movie. While it is full of slapstick humor, there are many suspenseful scenes as well which should thrill younger audiences. I also think that people of all ages are going to thoroughly enjoy the movie because of its child-like simplicity and cheerful vibe.
In conclusion, one can state that The Garfield Movie is a fun, entertaining, and heart-filled that should not be missed. It will attract fans, and it is a fun experience through which Garfield’s world is explored differently. But for those who have been following the comic strips for years or are discovering Garfield for the first time in the movie, it puts a smile on your face. So, grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the ride with Garfield, Jon, Odie, and all their friends!
